Hands-on Training

Education is an important component of the CCMSB. The broad range of structural biology methods available at the CCMSB provides hands-on training in the form of practical courses.

Graduate Education

Structural Biology and Biophysics Training Program

SBB-TP provides an entry point to graduate education in the areas of Structural Biology, Molecular and Cellular Biophysics. The program emphasizes quantitative methods and equips students to study cell and protein structure and function using our state-of-the-art instrumentation and computing. Visit site.

Biomedical Sciences Training Program

BSTP is an interdisciplinary Ph.D. program that combines 11 degree programs. Students have the opportunity to perform their thesis research with one of over 200 faculty mentors in fields that cover nearly all of biomedical research. Research rotations allow first-students to choose their mentors and area of specialization. Students then carry out their dissertation projects and earn their degrees in the PhD program they have chosen. Visit site.

Molecular Therapeutics Training Program

MTTP provides trainees with the knowledge and research skills to begin independent investigative and teaching careers in the pharmacological sciences. From bioorganic chemistry and molecular and structural biology to signal transduction and the cell biology of synapse formation and pain sensation, the Pharmacology Program provides a scholarly continuum that uses understanding of molecular interactions to unravel clinically relevant drug targets. The interdisciplinary design fosters interactions among students and faculty in basic and clinical departments. Visit site.

Physiology and Biophysics Graduate Program

PBGP provides an interdisciplinary doctoral training allowing you to pursue a research career in the medical sciences. We emphasize a quantitative and state-of-the art instrumentation intensive approach that equips doctoral students with cutting edge skills to address key biological questions. The ultimate goal is to train future scientists in understanding the mechanisms that control normal function of biological processes, translating that knowledge into new approaches and cures for disease. Biochemistry Graduate Program

Biochemistry students enter the Biochemistry Ph.D. program by directly applying into the Department for acceptance. Visit site.

Chemistry Graduate Program

Chemistry programs feature novel interdisciplinary research at the interfaces of chemistry, medicine, and engineering. We connect students with well-published faculty, cutting-edge facilities and instruments, and great collaborative opportunities. Visit site.
